please don’t preorder deus ex: mankind divided guys. this is absolutely ridiculous, it’s like a kickstarter or something. do you really want this to be the future of the gaming industry? do you really want these companies thinking this kind of shitty practice is acceptable? you guys already know how expensive games are, imagine paying twice as much for each little shred of content before the damn game even comes out. please do not support this.

I don’t think you realize how the system works. The more people that preorder, the more things we all get. I don’t see a problem with that.

nope, i understand it fully. maybe you disagree with me, and that’s okay/you can have your own opinion, but i’ll explain to you what is wrong with this in my own opinion.

a) by pre-ordering, you’re literally doing this weird hybrid of gambling and crowdfunding your pre-order “bonuses” - “bonuses” that include in-game maps/missions, aka content from the game. there’s no guarantee the next tiers will even be hit because they require a large number of other people to pre-order ((and they likely won’t be, since the gaming community is overwhelmingly against this.))
b) you only get to choose one reward from each tier. so even by pre-ordering for these “bonuses” ((content that should’ve been included already)), you’re still missing out on stuff.
c) if enough people pay for this, the industry will think this is an acceptable practice that will make them early money. if you already know the terrible state pre-orders are in with chunks of the games missing for consumers who did not pre-order, you should know how detrimental this is to the market. people don’t have the money to pay for content that should already be in the games in this way, they hardly do already. $60+ and any missing content is unacceptable, this practice needs to stop.
d) it’s also the publisher spitting on the hard work of devs. the game now has a bad reputation/leaves a bad taste in the community’s mouth because of how anti-consumer this system is. it might be a great game. we don’t know yet. that’s the trouble with trusting these companies by pre-ordering.

here’s a good video on this subject as well. basically, the pre-ordering process in the gaming industry is already shitty enough, and this process combines it all in one big garbage pile. we don’t have any idea how good games will be until launch, it’s been proven again and again how bad of an idea pre-ordering games is. the general consensus is that if we want better quality games, we need to stop pre-ordering them. i think we’re all guilty of pre-ordering sometimes for skins/costumes and whatnot, but especially in this case i hope that no one does it because this system is absolutely unacceptable and just cannot turn into a common practice. “bonus content” that includes actual parts of the game is not bonus content, it’s amputated content re-packaged as something extra.

You know whos important as fuck? Non binary people. All of em. Every last one.
NB people who present as androgynous. NB people who present as feminine.
NB people who present as masculine.
NB that struggle with dysphoria but aren’t quite sure how to fix it.
NB people that get made fun of for using ze or xe pronouns becase they “aren’t real.”
NB people who are constantly told they pronouns are grammatically incorrect.
NB people who get told they arent non binary enough for using she or he pronouns.
NB people who are constantly accused of making up their gender to be a “special snowflake.”
You’re not a special snowflake. But you are fuckin special. And you also kick ass.
All you peeps are great. Keep doing you and keep kicking gender roles’ ass while doing it.

the whole idea of “stay in school!!!!” is great and all but hard to hear when you’re someone who couldn’t stay in school

so here’s a post for every person who’s had to drop out of school. whether it was do to illness or money or just because you didn’t want to be there, you’re no less of a person for dropping out. you own your own life, and you’re just as important as people who were able to graduate

need refs/inspo for period clothing?

inkys-resources:

here you go:

lots of periods in one spot/fashion through centuries:

it indeed is western/european centric, I’m sorry for that, but for other cultures I simply don’t have so many references

ALSO note that most of the pictures show historical clothing from the upper classes or more festive clothing of the lower/working class because normal working clothes wouldn’t survive for such a long time, and the clothes were often re-used over and over again!

Anonymous asked:
How does someone recognise sex dysphoria and does the "phantom limb" thing counts as sex dysphoria? I can't figure out if I'm dysphoric or not
askatruscum replied:

it’s hard to explain what sex dysphoria feels like, but the “phantom limb” thing is 100% sex dysphoria.

basically if you in any way feel like your body should have different primary and/or secondary sex characteristics, that’s sex dysphoria. it could be discomfort, phantom “limbs”, feeling confused when you look in a mirror or feel your body…there are a lot of examples, and not everyone experiences it in the same way.

quick shoutout to emotional abuse survivors who still struggle with the idea that they didn’t deserve it

it’s hard to accept that fact when the abuse itself has you convinced of the opposite

but here’s your daily reminder that you didn’t deserve it, no matter what reasons you or your abuser have come up with to justify the abuse, it was undeserved

i hope you’re healing up okay
